after the storm, before clean-up (André Marion)
Three trees came down: one pine from the neigbouring property fell over the fence and damaged the outer pane of a library window, leaving the inner pane intact; the second large majestic pine narrowly missed the building and fell on the stones to the south between the window and the walkway; the third was the "Memorial tree", planted following the 9/11 events in the U.S.

worship, Sunday May 22 (Susanne Johnson)
The power at Parkwood was out for over a week, so worship on two Sundays, May 22 and May 29, was conducted using existing light, the piano and hymn books.
The first Sunday, the day after the storm, no livestream was possible and the service wasn't recorded.
The second Sunday, while livestreaming wasn't possible, a recording of the service was made and posted to Parkwood's YouTube channel the same day.

the clean-up (Marcia Harten)
It just so happened that pastor James got a call right after the storm from a chap with a chain-saw who had been doing some work at Gracefield. James explained our situation and he came over and cut up and limbed most of the three trees. A number of volunteers were recruited to clear the pathway and pile up the wood and debris.

after the cleanup (Gord Walford)
After things had settled down: (1) do you see a large reptile?; (2) How about a heart?
(a good portion of the large pine was hollow)

the finale (Marcia Harten)
Marcia caught a pic of this guy, a pileated woodpecker, feasting on bugs in what was left of the large pine.
...that's all, folks!
