Ways to donate

    There are many ways you can donate to the ministry of Parkwood church. You can donate online by e-transfer of credit card/PayPal (through CanadaHelps). You can set up automatic deductions to be taken out of your bank account. You can send us a cheque in the mail. Those who wish to give regularly can get offering envelopes and have their tax receipt issued at the end of the year (one-time donations are receipted by mail soon after the donation is received). Detail on these methods are presented here.

                  Where you'd like your donation to go. - see "Choices" below. Undesignated gifts will be allocated to the Operating Fund.   NOTE:  If you'd like to split your donation among two or more funds, feel free to use the alphabetic characters (A through M) instead of the fund names.

        Using an app for a phone or tablet? These apps sometimes limit the number of characters you can enter, so all the info we're asking for may not fit in the space allotted. If this happens, please send us your info in a separate email, to the "donate" email address above.

        You can donate easily using a credit card or PayPal via the CanadaHelps website. Here's a step-by-step guide ... to giving through CanadaHelps

          1. Choose where you want your donation to go - see "Choices" below.

          2. The default option is Donate Now. You may also choose to Donate Monthly.

          3. You can make a donation in honour of a living person you wish to recognize or in memory of someone who has passed on. You can also send us a message related to your donation.

          4. You can choose to donate by credit card or PayPal (if you have a PayPal account), Google Pay (if you have a Google Pay account) or using a CanadaHelps Charity Gift Card. The latter is available from CanadaHelps for persons wishing to donate easily to a number of charities through their web portal.

  • during a worship service

      During our worship services those in attendance have an opportunity to donate to the work of Parkwood and the wider church through the offering. There are special envelopes in the pews for this purpose. If you wish to give regularly using this method, you can request your own offering envelopes - you can put a donation, cash or cheque, in the envelope and put it in the offering plate (you can also put cash in the offering plate). The envelopes allow you to direct your donation to a particular area of Parkwood's ministry - see "Choices below.

      Arrangements can also be made for regular donations (PAR - Pre-Authorized Remittances) to be deducted from your bank account. Download the form to sign up or change your deduction here, fill it in and mail it to

      Cheques payable to Parkwood Presbyterian Church can be mailed to the church address, attn: Envelope Secretary (see above).

  • want offering envelopes?

      During our worship services those in attendance have an opportunity to donate to the work of Parkwood and the wider church through the offering. You can request offering envelopes if you wish to donate regularly; Then you can put a donation, cash or cheque, in your envelope and, put it in the offering plate.  What's the benefit to having offering envelopes? When you donate using an offering envelope, your donations are recorded by our Envelope Secretary and you get a tax receipt for the sum of your annual donations after the end of the year. If you'd like offering envelopes, contact our Envelope Secretary, Betty Paul (contact info below).

      *  PWS&D = Presbyterian World Service & Development
                  donations under D. above are meant to go to the general fund of PWS&D
                  from time to time the Mission Team makes a Special Appeal for donations for specific PWS&D initiatives. These will appear in category M. above.

      NOTE:  At the Annual Congregational Meeting in February 2023 those present accepted a recommendation from session that "the congregation set target of $10,000 and encourage members and adherents to designate their support for either Presbyterians Sharing or Presbyterian World Service and Development, or both." This commitment has continued in 2024 and 2025.

    Donations must be given to established funds   If the area of Parkwood's ministry you wish to donate to isn't listed here, please contact us at donate@parkwoodchurch.ca.   If you wish to make a donation to an "outside" ministry that Parkwood has supported in the past (see list here), unless it's a current Mission Team Special Appeal, please donate directly to the ministry.

    You can make a donation in honour of a living person you wish to recognize or in memory of someone who has passed on.

NOTE RE DONATING: there is an expense to donating through CanadaHelps, somewhere between 3.5 and 4 percent of the value of your donation. Your contribution in the offering plate, by PAR, e-transfer or cheque in the mail to Parkwood Presbyterian Church maximizes the value of your donation to us.
